We are GENIUSES!
Okay, to make it work, here's what I had to do: start with Justin. See, on TV you can imply everything and have a big reveal in the first episode that Josh has been missing, but in a story you kind of need somewhere to start from, and that's not quite the same. Also, you have more time to fuck around with the beginning and the characters. There's no reason to keep the entire thing Justin's POV, but I think it makes sense to keep it that way until the gang is mostly re-assembled, not least because Britney. (!!) And also because Justin is a bit of a headcase. I think he and Josh have a big heart-to-heart hug moment, possibly precipitated by Charles, but maybe not in the first episode (chapter) because that's a bit of a rush.|
Oh, that means the second episode should be the "they snipe at each other because Justin's still mad but he won't tell Josh why so Josh just thinks he's an unreasonable bastard until they're stuck together in a death-defying situation and it all comes out and Josh saves Justin's life or maybe vice-versa and now they looooooove each other again" episode.
ETA: I've actually decided to break it up more than this, so there's a Justin segment, and then a Charles one, and then back to J, and then maybe over to Tony, and back to J (who is having Quite A Day), and then maybe to Chris briefly, and then back to Justin meeting back up with Josh. So the whole first 3 minutes of the show are now, like, an entire chapter.
( Two years, three months and nine days after he vanished off the face of the earth, Josh came back, as if nothing had happened.Collapse )
In related news, I need the name of the TV show Justin works on. Ideas?
